What's a CDE ?

An ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) Comprehensive Diagnostic Evaluation is a thorough assessment used to evaluate individuals, particularly those suspected of having Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or other developmental and behavioral conditions. This evaluation involves gathering information through interviews, observations, and standardized testing to assess an individual’s cognitive, behavioral, and social functioning. It helps to identify strengths, challenges, and specific areas of concern related to communication, social interactions, and repetitive behaviors.

The evaluation is typically conducted by a psychologist or board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA) and includes input from family members and caregivers. By analyzing the individual’s behaviors and developmental history, the assessment provides a clearer picture of their unique needs. The results are used to create personalized treatment plans that focus on improving communication skills, social interactions, and reducing challenging behaviors.

ABA Comprehensive Diagnostic Evaluations are often the first step in accessing services and interventions that can support an individual’s development. They provide critical insights that help guide therapeutic approaches, educational planning, and long-term support. This evaluation is essential for setting measurable goals, tracking progress, and ensuring that interventions are tailored to each person’s needs. Ultimately, the goal is to enhance the individual’s quality of life and help them reach their fullest potential.
