Individual Therapy for children and adolescents can help them learn the necessary skills to manage their daily behaviors, emotions, and relationships with peers and adults. Parents are always informed of the general progress of their children and included in the sessions at the discretion of the psychologist and when deemed helpful or necessary.
Child-Parent Relationship therapy focuses on exactly THAT. The relationship between the child and parent when it has been disrupted by different factors such as divorce, abandonment, verbal abuse, constant fighting, or simply the relationship just became distant over the years. The parent and child must be present in most, if not all, sessions and this will be decided by the psychologist for best treatment outcome.
Individual Therapy is available for Parents struggling with their kids' behaviors, emotions, attitudes, etc. Therapy can help process those thoughts and emotions in a safe and warm environment.

Teenage Girls Self-Esteem Group

Mindful Amity offers a Weekly Self-Esteem group for Teenage Girls with low self-esteem. This group is inclusive of all cultures, religions, and backgrounds for teenage girls between the ages of 14 and 17. Admission to this group is determined by a one-time evaluation and comprehensive intake process completed by Dr. Payan to determine eligibility. This is an open group and clients can join at any time. A one-month minimal commitment is required to reduce high attrition rates and interruption of others' progress. For more information, you can email us at drpayan@mindfulamity.com and state your interest in this group on the subject line.

Family Therapy

Family Therapy is offered at Mindful Amity Psychological Services. Dr. Payan has years of experience providing therapy to families in Miami, FL. Family therapy is only for those residing in Miami and its surrounding areas as it is only offered in person; telehealth would not truly capture the connection and interactions between each family member that can be more accurately observed doing live therapy in the office. No matter how similar or unique your family is, there can be great benefits and positive outcomes in attending therapy when problems or conflicts are present, or when the family could benefit from more connection, togetherness, and more enjoyment in each other's company.
